Leonard Lincoln Truitt

Leonard L Truitt passed away February 18, 2006 after struggling with Alzheimer's disease for the past five years. One of the last memories to go were of his times on the USS San Juan. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
We have a letter Leonard wrote to an aunt and uncle dated September 4, 1945--last part of letter uncensored--telling of what USS San Juan had been doing. He was signalman who went ashore with Commander Stassen to free prisoners.
