To the happiness of receiving the message while at sea that the fighting was over and the joy of bringing the prisoners of war from the various prison camps in Japan to the hospital ships. (Hospital ship & Rescue). And the most frightful experiences where going thru three typhoons the worst which in the south China sea, fortunately we had no loss of life. the most damage to the ship was the loss of superficial life rafts and other equipment located on the main deck. You won't find an athies on a ship during a typhoon. One of the happiest feelings during a war is to be shot at or bombed at and be missed!
